It needs no wiring or electricity for operation, running off a single nine-volt battery (not included).

The Choice Alert Motion Sensor works with any of the Wireless Control Center's four zones. When the Motion Sensor is paired with Zones One, Two, or Three, the Wireless Control Center will emit a loud alarm that lets you know motion has been detected in 'Away' mode only. The Motion Sensor will not activate an alarm in 'Home' mode, so you can move freely around the house when the system is armed.
